Food Rescue US Receives $25,000 Grant from Jack Dorsey’s #StartSmall Initiative

#StartSmall, Jack Dorsey’s philanthropic initiative, has awarded Food Rescue US a $25,000 grant in support of their efforts to reduce hunger and food waste. Jack Dorsey launched #StartSmall to fund global COVID-19 relief, girls’ health and education, and efforts towards Universal Basic Income.

Food Rescue US had a record-breaking year in 2021 when they launched 11 new sites, provided more than 28 million meals to those in need, and kept more than 33 million pounds of excess food out of landfills. Funding from #StartSmall will support their web-based app and expansion efforts.

Carol Shattuck, CEO of Food Rescue US, shared, “We are extremely grateful for the #StartSmall grant which will enable us to take significant steps in addressing both food insecurity and food waste.”
