Jennifer Guhl, Director of Development and Marketing for Food Rescue US, has been selected as one of the winners of the sixth annual Waste360 40 Under 40 awards program, which honors the next-generation of leaders who are shaping the future of the waste and recycling industry.
The Waste360 40 Under 40 awards program recognizes inspiring and innovative professionals under the age of 40 whose work in waste, recycling and organics has made a significant contribution to the industry. The winners are involved in every part of the waste and recycling industry, including haulers, municipalities, composters, recycling professionals, policymakers and product suppliers.
Jennifer has been with Food Rescue US since June 2019 and is bringing the issue of food waste and its impact on climate change to the attention of those who may not be familiar with the issues. Her efforts have given the organization and the issue of food waste coverage in more than 250 local and national news outlets. Jennifer has worked with Food Rescue’s site directors to develop fundraising and marketing strategies that meet the specific needs of the communities they serve. Fundraising on the local site level has increased by 244% from 2019 to 2020. In very short order, Jennifer became a key member of the Leadership Team at Food Rescue US.
Winners will be honored at this year’s WasteExpo on June 28 – 30, 2021 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
