CELEBRATE FOOD RESCUE US: A BENEFIT TO REDUCE HUNGER AND FOOD WASTE
This evening will increase awareness and help raise funds for Food Rescue US, a national nonprofit founded in Fairfield County, CT.
Join Food Rescue US for Celebrate Food Rescue US, an evening to help end hunger and reduce food waste in Fairfield County and communities across the country. The inaugural benefit will take place on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023 from 6:00PM –
9:30PM at The Loading Dock located in Stamford, CT.
During the event, two remarkable individuals will be honored for the difference they have made in helping to end hunger and food waste. Danielle Blaine, former Food Rescue US – Fairfield County site director and Greenwich resident, will receive the Leadership Award for her efforts to unite and inspire the Fairfield County communities both during the pandemic and afterwards.
Dayanny De La Cruz, vice president, Culinary Core Solutions for Levy Restaurants and former executive chef for SodexoLive!, Hard Rock Stadium, and Miami Dolphins will receive the Visionary Award for her innovation and determination to reduce food waste and support those in need in the community. Dayanny worked with Food Rescue US – South Florida to rescue a combined 130,000 pounds of excess food from the 2020 Super Bowl and the 2022 Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix.
The event will also feature exclusive silent and live auction items and a seated dinner with fine wines and cocktails.
“We are excited to start off our return to live events with this year’s Celebrate Food Rescue US benefit,” shared Carol Shattuck, chief executive officer for Food Rescue US. “It’s through events like this one that we can raise awareness of the important work our team, volunteers, and collaborators are doing throughout Fairfield County and across the country and raise funds to support our efforts to fight hunger and food waste.”
