Help Fridge the Gap

COMMUNITY FRIDGE PROJECT

Through a Fridge the Gap grant from the Cohen Foundation, we are excited to bring two new community fridge projects to our city, and we want to hear from YOU!

If you are a potential social service agency partner or community member, click "Provide Community Input" to share where you believe a fridge is needed.

If you want to support the Fridge through a financial contribution, group volunteer effort, and/or food donation to stock the fridge - please click "Help Support the Fridge. "

Take The Detroit food rescue challenge

YOUR SURPLUS FOOD CAN FEED PEOPLE, NOT LANDFILLS!

Pledge to donate your surplus food! Our goal is to add 20 new food donors between harvest time and the holidays.

Why Take the Challenge?

  • Combat Food Insecurity: 69% of Detroit residents face food insecurity. Your surplus food donations can make a direct impact.
  • Reduce Environmental Impact: Donating surplus food helps reduce landfill content and greenhouse gas emissions

Why Partner with Food Rescue US?

  • Easy and Reliable Transport: We'll schedule pickups of food donations on a day, time and frequency that makes sense for your business.
  • Reach the unreachable: We fill gaps that traditional food rescue models cannot, maximizing your donation's impact.

Click the button below to join our network of food donors and get started today!

Not a business owner? You can still accept the challenge by donating funds or volunteering to rescue food.
