Food Rescue US – Hartford

Anika moved to Connecticut in 2023 and joined Food Rescue US as a way to apply her leadership and logistics skills to serve her new community. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, Anika developed a strong connection to nature that quickly evolved into a passion for protecting the environment. During university, Anika also volunteered in a Seattle soup kitchen where she learned the significant impact one organization could make on addressing food insecurity within a community.

As site director, Anika is committed to supporting similar organizations across the Hartford region by coordinating access to nutritious food and simultaneously reducing food waste sent to landfills. Anika graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and has extensive leadership experience through student-run organizations and her career in the aerospace industry.
